XC NPS Rounds 1 -3

UCD mountainbikers have been taking part in the National Points Series XC league of which three rounds have taken place so far.

Cait Elliot represented UCD at the first round on the 29th April in Glenarm Forest, County Antrim and achieved 2nd place in the Elite Womens category.

The second round took place a week later in Ballinastoe Wood near Roundwood, Co. Wicklow. Again Cait achieved 2nd place, and Oisin Boydell achieved 5th place in Experts. Full race report here by Andy Potts.

Last Sunday the third round took place in Carlingford, Co. Louth. An extended course from that used for the third round of the K Capital Cup included long technical singletrack sections which proved difficult after the recent rain and the length of the loop was also longer than in previous rounds. Congratulations to Cait who took first place in Elite Women. Oisin Boydell achieved 6th place in Experts.

The next round is on next Sunday at Magheramourne Quarry near Larne in County Antrim. Full results for all rounds so far here.
