2008 K-Capital Cup Round 1

Last Sunday marked the start of this years K-Capital Cup, with round 1 being held on the Kilruddery Estate by Team WORC. There was a great showing at the race with over 250 participants and international competition in the Elite category from the British Cycling Team and the British Champion Oli Beckingsale.


UCD's Oisin Boydell took to his first XC race of the year with vigour. Leading experts from the start he attacked throughout. Despite losing the lead at one point (due to a mechanical), Oisin managed to regain his position and take his first ever win in the Expert category. He now wears the Leaders Jersey entering the second round to be held in two weeks time in Moneyscalp.


Robert Higgins also represented UCD, starting from the back of the Sports field, he gingerly covered the distance, passing a few people and finished in a relaxed fashion 24th of 60 starters, and beaten by only one girl!
